Egypt, the Desert of Sinaï and the Red Sea

 A Lovely Escape

After several journeys in Egypt, I went back at the end of September 2011 for a new stay. It was exceptional, while not knowing how much this place would impress me: the Desert of Sinai.

It’s Sayed, our very friendly Bedouin guide, who did embark us, with emotion and sensibility to the secrets of this great mysterious land. He knows it like his pocket, his safari is perfectly organized off the beaten tracks of tourism.
In these vast areas of impressive rock or sand, time stands still. One lives to the rhythm of the nomads. The simple hospitality of the Bedouins offering us a glass of tea in their tents, the camels, the gorgeous sunsets and sunrises, the moon and magnificent starry skies.

You will be facing yourself in the "middle of nowhere" where silence dominates!

There is a large variety of landscapes. If you think that the desert is only sand, you are wrong! On the contrary: you see mountains, rock formations, lunar landscapes, incredibly colorful canyons and wide empty spaces ... All is harmony!

Sayed radiates good humor, joie de vivre”, turns every moment into an unforgettable experience. In addition, his dexterity at the wheel of his fourwheeler vehicle, driving on rocky formations or in the sand makes it a delight during the safari. The so-called primitive comfort of our camp is soon forgotten.

Colored Canyon, Canyon Salama, camel ride in Wadi Ghazala, Closer Canyon, Oasis Ain Khudra, White Canyon with sand as white as snow, Majaz Wadi, Sandy Landscapes, Hudada mountain with its pristine sand dune like a powder fit for alpine slopes, Hudada Wadi ... The apotheosis is certainly the National Park of Ras Abu Galloum rare beauty. An unspoiled desert and mountains located between the Red Sea with its lagoons, reed huts of fishermen and Bedouin desert caravans.
It is like going back in time, to be at the end of the world, to be the first to discover the splendor of such a natural reserve.
I feel like I'm living a fabulous dream being into another planet!

Diving in Abu Galloum is a unique experience whether snorkeling or scuba diving. What a marvellous show to swim over beautiful forets of corals of all shapes and colors with magnificent colored fishes playing hide and seek!

This "magical" safari is slowly coming to an end, soon we will go back with 100 000 images in our eyes and unforgettable memories! What a great feeling of happiness, of great serenity, to find a beautiful energy.

It's a great honor to have wandered a few days with Sayed, our guide, who has brilliantly organized the safari in Sinai. He is strongly and proudly attached to his native region

We thank Sayed from the bottom of our hearts. He has made this adventure so special and unique. Also not to forget Eid and his sister, our young Bedouin guides who did accompagny us with their camels for a whole day.

IMPORTANT : to fell you reassured :

Whilst the Arab Spring and the Egyptian revolution took place, the area is definately safe for the tourists. Sinai is totally under control being far from the events of Tahrir Square in Cairo.
We didn’t feel insecure at all during this last trip in September 2011.

So there will be no reason not trying this adventure discovering the Desert of Sinai and Red Sea under the care of Sayed and his team!
